4. Where does the ride end?

The ride will end where it started, at Municipal Park, 1st and Main Streets in Downtown Hays. The German meal and after-ride party will be held under the shelter house.

5. Where do I park?

We will have ample parking near the Registration Shelter House - Inside the NCK-Tech Parking Lot on the west side of the street.

6. How difficult is the ride?

This ride offers anywhere from an easy, “no rider left behind” ride of approximately 13 miles (register for the “Fun Ride”) up to a century ride for those that want that much mileage.  The supported lengths are 30, 50, & 62- mile routes.  Any additional distances are self-supported. This is a ride, not a race.  When area riders do the 62-mile route, we have 1296 ft. in elevation change. The wind in western KS can always be a factor!

12. Is there a gravel ride?

Yes – we are adding a gravel route this year! This is a self-supported ride. Sign up for “Ride 5, Gravel Course, 62 miles”

13. What about hills?

The ride goes through the rolling plains of Western Kansas. Elevation gain to Pfeifer is at about 700 feet, and to Catherine about 550 feet.

14. What if I have bike trouble or I need to quit the ride in between SAG stops?

We will have vehicle support to “sweep” the routes and a number to call if you need help or need to be picked up.

15. Is this good training for other rides?

Yes, riders will encounter hills, the Kansas wind, and have flat segments to ride training intervals if they want.  If nothing else, the riders are getting base miles in for future and/or races.

16. How many people will be on this ride?

We are hoping for 100 riders. After canceling the ride last year, we are hoping for great participation this year! Each rider should have two water bottles, snacks, an extra tube(s)/patch kit, a multi-tool, and a small air pump. SAGS will also provide free snacks as part of your registration fee.

18. Can I buy a t-shirt or meal for some extra guests/family members that come along with me but are not registered to ride?

Yes, on the registration form, there is a place to order extra shirts and/or meals.  Please fill out that portion of the registration form.
